Perhaps this is just idle speculation, but what if the hanging once downloading starts of the save infomation is due to the different files from the new .dll?
Could we possibkly change back to the original/vanilla .dll please?

Maybe I'm being a little too negative or pessimistic but maybe we are better off putting this game to bed. Fun was had and game setup lessons were learned but maybe it's better to move on and let the community focus on the new game (and the ongoing PBEM) rather than struggle on with this game. Just a thought.

Well I have to confess that I've lost quite a bit of interest in this game since we've been having the long delay getting it back running, but maybe that would return if we were to get going again...

If we cannot get a hold of Memphus over the next few hours, I say we just let the game continue.

Personally I would like to continue playing. The pauses are distressing though.
Sunrise can you try the dll thing Krill requested maybe that will work.

Memphus isn't going to be able to commit 100% (I know why, but won't explain his situation without his approval). This isn't unreasonable, I always intended to play the majority of this game and to use Hamachi afterwards to continue through the uni network (it's worked on 2 other networks, not sure why it doesn't work here).
So I seem to be in the unfortunate position of having to ask for a permenant sub. I'm willing to step aside completely so that they can have a free run at it, or to continue as advisor to the supposed sub. Either way, the spoiler thread is there and I can give a handover if required.

That is unfortunate. Have you posted on Civfanatics or other groups as everyone here is most likely spoiled.
I guess we can wait a couple days for a sub to be found

I am not sure how practical this is, but since Krill is still here, would it be possible to continue with people/the spoiled lurkers acting only as "Hand of Krill"?
(Like, Krill still decides everything, and they just make the necessary moves on his behalf)
