It's still a fun map, I think, and people seem to be enjoying the monsters......
FWIW I still really love the starts... they were supposed to give people the impression of landing on, like, Jurrassic Park or something, and finding the ruins of a previous expedition whose members have seemingly disappeared into the wilds...

Out of interest Joey, you used the tool to make this map on any of the other maps we've played on? The more I read of this game, the cooler the map looks.

Thank you!!
Yeah, I've used this tool to make a couple other maps here... PB27 of course, and then there's the new EITB XLVIII that's still in leader-pick phase right now. I've also used it on a few maps over at badgame. It's nice because you can go from idea -> something playable/fair pretty quickly, and it eliminates a lot of the tedium of counting stuff over and over again.

So, Yuri had warred against me before and took most of my cities, however took a peace treaty stalling out on my capital. After the 10 turns I had tons of HAs and nothing to lose, and 3 of his captures directly bordered my culture and had barely any garrison.

In his last post Ichabod states that he has already conceded to Gawdzak winning... Is that enough to consider calling this game? Dreylin already stated that he feels he has minimal chance at winning...

If the game is going fine, why would you stop it?

Don't concede the game now that I'm out of my misery. I'd like to be able to actually enjoy it for a day or two.
Preliminary postmortem thought before I go digging around and exploring everything: Either all civs or no civs should have a snaky or bloblike starting area. Stretching expansion in a line is worse for several reasons than settling in a circle-ish around the starting capital area. Maintenance is one, but worse is the logistics of worker management for starting the snowball. I played pretty poorly in this game after the initial expansion phase (also, Darius, never again) but I also was handicapped by having to stretch for locations because I was limited by the shape of the landmass.
From what little I've seen, I like the map, that complaint notwithstanding. How was the map balanced to account for a player starting on the inside vs the outside of the circle?

Can you explain why exactly are you unhappy with Darius?

I tried to give the players on the inside a little more room, but everyone's situation was a little different. Those who had less room also had a bit more dense food in their area, and vice-versa. Y'all didn't want a mirror.
Your spot was a little tighter than average but it wasn't the worst. (see: Mr. Cairo or Dreylin). IIRC, I thought your spot was ok due to having so much safe backfill and so little border compared to other players.
