RBPitboss #2 Athlete4life10 & Kalin

Hi Athlete,

The moves were very good. It pains me to have that Coruscant cottage not worked, but I think it's the right choice. Cannot grow right now, so we may as well finish the archer. After we can do either worker or settler. I am starting to think that settler for the fish/deer city may be the way to go. We can also go for the city next to the Incas, although it will be expensive. On second thought we may want to do that one, as the sooner we do it the better.

Re: R2-D2 -- either the grass hill or another cottage.

Next turn I think we should whip Endor for 1-pop. The worker should build a cottage then head to Istanbul.

Hey Kalin,

Played most of the turn again smile.

The galley has cleared a route to India but they can not see it smile.

Workboat is working on finding the N/S passage.

The chariot on the rice @ Coruscant. Should it go to the barb city? It won't make it in time for a T100 attack unless we road more tiles towards Greece. Hobbie (currently 9/10 xp) is around a barb city beside Greece so could probably attack the barb city for the last xp then take medic promo and join the T100 attack for our last chariot. What do you think?

Copper is now hooked up YaY! Yavin IV should whip the granary asap (so should Istanbul). We'll send Owen back to Endor and RA-7 can improve Yavin IV. Did you see my sign about farming that one tile and cottaging hte rest around Yavin IV?

Also had a thought about upgrading BoShek to an Axe and taking the barb city with him. I think we can afford to wait a couple turns to slow build an axe though or use the chariot I referred to above as we need the gold for research now. I also lowered research to 70% @ -15 gold. Math in 1 with minimal overflow as we're going for Mysticism next.

Any thoughts?

Hey Athlete,

Thanks for playing the turn. Here are my comments.

I would send the chariot on the rice to the front. Even if late, it may still be useful. We need the barb city to grow, and an axe from Kashyyyk would be just fine.

Hobbie should also join the front, however should get the 10XP from barb city next to greece (great idea).

I cross my fingers for the circumnavigation bonus smile The galley should explore a bit more then come back to Kas. Maybe we can send an axe/spear pair on that side if needed.

Owen at Endor sounds good, should get more cottages!

RA-7 should stay at Yavin and farm/mine/cottage. I didn't see the sign yet, but I assume we want a farm to chain irrigate the rice later.

Re: upgrading BoShek -- I think it's not a good idea. Money is pretty hard to come by at the moment and an upgrade is something like 60g, which is expensive. Let's wait until Kas or even Endor build an axe or two.

Now that we have 2 libs, we should do binary research. I suggest we either save or go 100%. This turn we should go 100% to get maths. It's ok to have a lot of overflow. We get a lot of bonus on mysticism.

Those were my thoughts smile

RE: RA-7 @ Yavin

I was thinking of disagreeing with your sign for chopping the granary rather than whipping, however thinking about it more I think chopping is better. However we will be short a good 3rd tile to work shortly after so maybe we should have Owen stick around to farm first before he goes to Endor? Man we are so short on workers...

If you are short on workers, grow to size 4, and double slave one out. Provided you have gotten granaries in place before the foodbox is half full at size 2 it's a pretty quick way to get a worker out. Obviously you'll need 2 workers present to get the granary chopped out quickly in new cities an the food hooked.

Thanks for the tip Krill! I believe this is what we'll probably due with Istanbul. It will have the granary complete with 2 food sources hooked up soon so we'll definitely be considering it.

I'll try and get up to date on diplomacy again. Also I've decided I'll do a very complete update on T100. Our civ/economy & short term plans. Graphs/demogs, and of course the new war front of CoW shhh Oh and we're currently on T95 so not long to wait for pictures.

HRE to CoW:
Quote:Dear Friends and Allies,

India isn't happy with Dantski for closing borders and not prolonguing their NAP.
I dropped a line about a possible war together against Dantski, mentioning Gao and it's iron as a reason from us.
They are interested in a discussion regarding war and how to proceed, so I'll see what intel I can get from them.

Cheers!
Nakor

Rome to CoW:
Quote:Dear Friends and Allies,

Deception. Marvelous. It would surely be too convoluted, but supposed that you did engineer a "war" against Dantski with India. In a state of war, you could travel through their territory. You would coordinate an attack with India, so you would know where their troops would be, and how many they have. Except that you would then declare war on India. You could cut down their army while it is not in their territory. The downside, of course, is that Dantski would have to agree to having war declared on him . . . the these "preparations" would take longer than we want, and that you cannot share tile space with an "enemy" (and signing peace would teleport your units away). Please keep in mind that I am aware of the absurdity of this idea, but I felt like sharing it.

Nakor should go ahead with his more rational plan of mining India for information on their forces and expected production rates. Hopefully, one way or the other, India will throw most of their troops southward, so Jowy and Athlete/Kalin can hit them from the north.

To victory,

Whosit, Galactic Emperor

Mali to CoW:
Quote:Hi Guys

Some info in India's new city for Whosit.

It's placed 1 NW of the fish in the inner sea. It has jungle on the tile south of it currently if you feel like landing your troops first. It will likely be at least size 2 by the time you get there and will also probably have a couple of workers nearby and Spulla do like pairing up their workers. I have no info on the units inside the city but considering the rising tensions between India and myself, I'd expect at least an axe+spear pair.

HRE, I'm happy for you to declare war on me if it helps us, but since I'm currently scouting along the coast I'd prefer if it didn't happen.

-Dantski

Us to CoW:
Quote:Dear Friends,

First let me express my utmost admiration at the diplomatic skill of
the HRE! This is so great for our coming action. In addition, with the
HRE entering the war a few turns late, it may even allow us to get
some extra information.

Here's a suggestion for the HRE. I would ask India about a timeline
for the war against Romali. If the horizon is far in the future (like
20-25 turns), just nod. If they say "we can start right now", counter
that with "we are not ready, we can probably start in 20-25 turns".
This would be so that India doesn't go into military mode in the next
8 turns or so.

Regarding a war between HRE and Romali, we'd like to point out that
HRE would not be able to use the roads in the Romali territory, in
addition to some issues related to unit teleporting and... the
potential for misclicks smile I don't think this war is needed, given
that very soon both HRE and Romali would war against India.

Best,
Kalin for Team A/K of the Ottomans

HRE to CoW:
Quote:Thanks, Friends!

We won't declare, since it will make our move more difficult.
But once Dantski declares on India, we can play the game along and tell them that we'll aid them, but that we have a NAP with Dantski that we don't want to break. How ironic...

Let's see what India really wants first...
I used to play a lot of online diplomacy games, and that makes you quite paranoid...

Regards,
Nakor of HRE

Kalin to CoW:
Quote:Excellent! All this sounds very good.

A quick recap:

* On T100 Dantski, Jowy, A/K declares
* On T105 HRE joins the war
* On T112 or earlier The Galactic Empire lands

Best,
Kalin

That's it, your up to date! The above all occurred a few days/turns ago however there's been nothing else recent.

So T96 is in the books (atleast for us).

Hobbie attacked a combat 1 warrior fully fortified in a barb city over by Greece/India @ 90.1% odds and won. However he's at 0.2/4 health so I moved him a 2nd tile away from the city. There's only 1 warrior left (no promo, fully fortified) so it would be nice to be able to take the city for the gold, however I don't think we'll be able to b/c of CoW. It's in a pretty good spot for Greece to keep as well so hopefully he can beat India to it. With CoW only 4 turns away I don't think India can get and hold it so not the end of the world. We'll probably give Hobbie the Medic promotion and get him inside Greece's borders.

Also India has a GNP of 134 which is crazy so they've switched research back on. Hopefully it's not Feudalism!

Hey Athlete,

Lots going on...

So barb city didn't grow because... it built a worker! That's good for let's hope the Incas don't steal it. I was wondering if to send them something saying that messing up with the barb city will not be appreciated.

Whew, Hobbie almost died. We got lucky there, but yay, we got the HE! Hobbie should join the attack stack as doctor indeed.

We need to make a plan with Jowy for the attack. I drafted a message, can you review, edit and send? We also have to communicate with Dantski. I am thinking that a better way to go will be to beeline for their horses/copper and pillage them. While doing that we (the cow) can threaten the cities simultaneously, so India will have to choose between spreading their forces to protect cities and resources, or lose their horses/copper.

I think we should work out a plan turn by turn regarding the attack. I'll try to take a stab at that whenever possible, but not sure when I'll be able to. It would be good if you can give it a try as well. Jowy can maybe help a bit here, because we don't have good visibility of the area.

Re: Coruscant -- should we build a settler instead? Kashyyyk should build a axe after galley, then more troops I think. Endor should start on a Hamman imo, instead of a new archer while growing (slowly) into the cottages. Istanbul should do a library, as it will have quite a bit of commerce soon: crabs, furs, then cottages.

It looks like we will have explored the N-S axis next turn, so should get the bonus in 2 turns!

Question for lurkers: If Jowy and us have two stacks on the same tile, and India attacks, what unit defends? Best between the two of us?

I think that was all,

Kalin

Provided you are both at war, the best unit always defends.
