Plako just played. They did three 1-pop whips (or drafts?) and one 2-pop whip.

Turn 139

We completed 3 knights this turn, and as Yosarian says Trolls (probably) drafted 3 times this turn and 3 times last turn, which I think means they now have six maces. So if they can time it right they could have 12 or 13 maces in WIFOM when we get there. M3 gifted us another catapult, I think making a total of nine now...


We'll have one scout available next turn which I'll use to see what WIFOM has for defense next turn (t140) before suiciding him. On t141 my plan was to send two workers deep into Troll lands to see what they have in Bloody Mary and WIFOM before teleporting them back to safety when we declare.


They seem to have whipped walls into WIFOM since t137, which I have heard don't stack with cultural defenses, so I'm a little puzzled. Another puzzle - we could send our 1-movers along the mountain ridges marked, but on t142 put our knights on the "Possible knight staging" tile and sweep in over the grassland t143.
Benefit: our powder is dry for one more turn
Cost: a bigger stack is a safer stack, exposed knights could be targets for spears/pikes.
I'm leaning towards keeping the stack together, anyone think differently?

Down south our fleet is on its way.


With another couple of Triremes accompanying them one turn later. Note the Troll galley under the selected Trireme, we'll need to be sure to kill it on t141 to protect our fishing nets.


Troll power and TEAM power both going up right now.


Trolls have over half of our soldier count. I think it's going to be close...

Oh jeez. I had a good laugh when I read Old Harry's post. Then I had a panic attack when I read Cheater Hater's post.

Here's what I found on CFC. I think (hope) we're good.

Okay--that makes me feel a little better--now I can start commenting on the rest of the post smile

Don't the walls make it so we bombard more slowly? Otherwise that's hopefully a good sign of the tactical prowess we'll be facing smile

I'm confused about how separating the knights from the stack benefits us? Just that they see fewer troops on T141? If so, I don't think it's worth it at this point.

Southern fleet looks good--make sure to tell which direction the galley will transport to when we declare.

I think TEAM entering around T145 is the key we need to finish off Trolls--does anyone know if the WW generated by Zeus goes away if it burns? How about if TEAM would take control of it?

On a related point, what happens if we take Masoleum and they're still in their golden age? (even though I doubt we'll do so wink )

I nearly had a heart attack this morning - I've logged in to check and there is no "you can't declare war now" when you mouseover the troll score.dancing

Sorry if I gave you guys the same fright! I did double check it in single player first to be sure it wouldn't lock us into peace, but thinking about it it's possible that there would be different implimentations in SP and MP, so should have checked in an MP version too! smoke

The knights thing was to make them focus on the zerks. But yeah, it doesn't make much sense. Its a shame to have two-movers that can't move two to attack though!

I've been told that MOM has it's effect the turn you start your golden age, so you could trigger three all at once, then have it burned, and it would give you 36 turns. I presume SOZ unhappy goes away just as soon as the building disappears/is captured. It would be odd not to...

Looks like I'll be playing the first war turn on Wednesday around 2200 GMT (is that about 5pm for you guys?) I've been thinking about how to conference call (if you want to) - I'm on gchat as rboldharry, and I could share a dropbox folder with you and stick screenies in there as we go? What do you think?

Looks like that's about 3pm for me, so I'll still be at work. I can do gtalk and dropbox on my phone, though, and I'd love to follow along while you commence the attack, even if I can't participate.
