No, I mean that's well composed and executed image. But it's also some pretty good land. As far as your scouting thogh... a bit limited yet. neenerneener

Turn 105: Caledorn lost a size 3 and a size 10 city to BGN. BGN appears to have razed the cities.

T105: Tech times:

Alphabet: 4 turns, breakeven (2*0%, 1*60%, 1*100%)
IW, 3 turns, breakeven (1*0%, 1*20%, 1*100%)
HBR, 4 turns, breakeven (2*0%, 1*60%, 1*100%)
MC, 5 turns, breakeven
Calendar, 5 turns (19@10%)
Construction 5 turns (20@10%)
CoL, 5 turns

Breakeven bpt = ~95 bpt

Whatever we do, we should save gold this turn. But things are looking up. We only miss 6 foreign trade routes, much fewer than expected.

novice, I'm working late shifts today and tomorrow so I will not be around when you play the turn until Friday.

Turn 106 played.

Qgqqqqq now at war with Mardoc.

Xenu was making over 100gpt the other turn, but this turn we're on par with Plako and everybody else we know.

Catching up in food and population, and we were improving our MFG, but look at that rival best now... I guess someone started a golden age. I'm not really paying attention to the GNP numbers, seeing what techs people have and how much gold they generate is more relevant. (Unless we start excelling in GNP, then it's really important.)

Not sure where Ruff settled that marble city btw, the marble still says it requires a quarry, so does that mean he settled elsewhere?

novice, Ruff landed his units on the tile 12 of that marble. He has marble hooked somewhere else. That tile landed on corresponds with perfect galley movement and timings.

Played t107. Nothing that interesting to report, I just spent ages in game trying to plan without a sandbox, moving units and immediately regretting my choices.

We have Xenu's graphs now, I queued up Oxy's graphs next although maybe Queeg would be a better choice? I guess we'll change to TBS when we make contact with him either way. Anyway, graph dump:

Internationally, someone we don't have contact with finished MoM, dtay is at peace with Barry now, and Oxy is at peace again with HitAnyKey (I think it was).

And finally a few screenshots from the turn, the final two showing what proper starts look like.

I have to run.

novice, basic plan:

HBR>Calendar>[Construction/CoL/MC]. We need to burn a GA to revolt into Caste; need 3 cities to get GP 2, 3 and maybe 4, for another GA to react to dtay, and an Academy. At that point we can consider Machinery for Xbows, rush to CS for Bureau at end of the GA. Caste workshops should give us enough hammers to get an army in place, provided we lay off the whip as much as possible, make sure we have the workers, and aren't hit too soon.

We are screwed for that first GA though. Only option I see is library in FR and see what we get. We could theoretically hedge, and go Construction>MC>Machinery and then bulb Engineering to stave off the knight hordes.

Good plan, Krill.

We can whip away the gold in WH (regrow at eot) and settle TS t110. Or grow WH to size 5 and whip it next turn, delaying tS to t111. Growing (edit: after whipping) this turn also loses 2 hammers to the growing-while-building foodhammers quirk.

What do you prefer? I prefer settling TS t110, it has improved crabs from t0. I get the feeling I could have planned this better though. smile

No, in all honesty Plako screwed it up for us, and I changed plans with the scout overflow after doing the micro. Not your fault at all.

I am ambivalent about either plan. Whipping off gold is just wrong, but the new city gives +8 commerce from being up a turn sooner, plus the food. Got the city maintenance costs though, that would make up for that boost...eh, get it T110, never know how soon we will need to emergency whip TS.

I am around this evening for any discussions. Can't do fun stuff, working 25 hours over the weekend.
