Yeah, Dye + river are arguments for the jungle site. Unfortunately, we won't really have time to scout the area if we want to remain efficient..
The timeline IIRC:
EOT75, Galley and settler are born
T76 Settler loaded
T77 Settler unloaded
T78 City F founded
Of course we can spend one turn moving back and forth, but it has a clear cost. If that island is really an island founding the city will increase our trade route commerce from 5 to 12..

How about unloading both units on the forest, move the bowman SE and if we uncover anything attractive move the settler S and accept the delay?
I think the increase in commerce will be partly offset by an increase in maintenance. I seem to remember costs jumping from -15 to -21 in the sandbox when that city was settled, but it might have been less.

Sounds good. And you're of course correct about the maintenance off-setting most of those immediate commerce-benefits.

Spamming continues.. I made a minor micro change! Dunkirk puts its production this turn into barracks. This does not change Barracks, Worker or Granary finishing times. It just converts 2 hammers into 2 food in a city lacking food.. Probably should have done this a turn or two ago already. (I think we could afford convert 4 more hammers into food before it would have compromised the timeliness of the granary build)
Now would be a great time for a barb warrior to arrive..

Turn 71
Building continues:
- Cow pastured
- Dunkirk finally gets barracks chopped
- Sailing about to come in
- The barb in the south moved E meaning that it's not on a mission towards us

I moved our scout for 1 tile:
Maybe we stay here and move NW next turn. Moving immediately N has a slight barb risk, but would be ok for me if you want.
There is something odd with suttree's city placement..
Our demos have never been this good (and probably never will again):
Just compare our Food+MFG against rival bests. We are currently very very competitive Let's keep it going..
However, I guess it's time to start moving towards the rival average in power as well...
PS. We lost m_h's graphs. I allocated 2 EPs on him, but that might not be enough..
PPS. I did not end turn yet. Will do tomorrow morning unless you are faster than me or we have something to discuss!

He planted on a plains hill copper for a 3-hammer city tile! Looks as though his empire stretches north, perhaps we need to look at the river valley sooner rather than later?
I'd move Lunch north, it'll uncover a water tile that we wouldn't otherwise and we'll run a barb risk anyway once we get into the jungle, might as well uncover as much as possible while he survives...

I'm not that worried about m_h's graphs - his power isn't scary - but I think we want Suttree's ASAP. m_h will take his EP's off us eventually, then we can top up as needed.

I conducted some diplo...
And suttree has a chance to send us a message..
Will our lunch finally get eaten..?
PS. I changed our EP allocation so that everything is now going towards suttree.
Breaking news:
Retep razed a city from WilliamLP You know, I have no idea who, but somebody out there is really going to benefit from all this skirmishing.. There will surely be a large uncontested region somewhere..

He probably miss-clicked when checking on how many cities we had. Of course if you didn't press enter before sending you'll have sent him a blank message too :P. This is a totally no-diplo game isn't it?
Also brilliant work retep! That's one of the score leaders cut down a bit. Lets just make sure we don't end up in a similar situation with Suttree... If he thinks Lunch came from the other side of YuriMack perhaps he'll forgo the free EP for his axe in favour of an enemy-of-my-enemy friend? We should have followed your movement plan!

Yeah, this is AI Diplo, but I thought that this was closer to tech thread stuff and not too criminal..

BTW the fact Suttree rolled the turn and then played this turn straight away makes me hope he has no intention of eating Lunch
