From CivStats, it seems like StarDoor got GLH and OT4E got Colossus. Assuming the previous analysis is correct, and StarDoor is OT4E's neighbor, I have mixed feelings; on the one hand, I'm glad he's not playing totally passive and might have some power to contain OT4E, but on the other, if he doesn't have the power, he's just going to get rolled over when OT4E decides to hop into Police State, whip out a bunch of HA, and takes the GLH.
But hey! At least Masonry won't be a wasted tech when we find the Marble and Stone that greenline definitely put in somewhere, right?

Or Trebuchets, if he Oracled Machinery. Good luck with that.

Anyway, as ever we're doing okay without being contenders. Here are the demos:
We have more Cottages being built. Most are around, or just north of, the capital:
We're up to 10 cities now, with the last one being a very mediocre single-Clam city that should, I think, seal off a bunch of land to our east without looking too aggressive to Elkad. We're not squeezed for space, so I'd rather avoid settling a contentious border city and starting a fruitless war.
I'm not sure if we can fit in Priesthood before IW. Commerce is limiting us at the moment, as you can see. However, it will take a while for Auxesis to pop borders and claim the Jungle Gems anyway (and we have a Forest Gems to improve before that, regardless). So maybe it can be timed right.
---
I could do with some more city names for future Settlers, if you've any suggestions.

We have a Metonymy; could we get Synecdoche as well?
I'm not sure about Priesthood -- is that just for Temples? I feel like it would be better to grab IW then finally hit up Writing so we can progress to Maths and Calendar/Currency before our economy collapses entirely. Remember that we get discount Markets in RTR. Nice job on the cottages, though; our core is settled such that they should all be able to be worked by someone at all times, which is very nice.
Last thought: I realized that Hyperbole is a canal city to sea on which the land blocked by peaks lies. Any chance of breaking a water unit free to scout it out?

Just for a Temple. We need a shrine at some stage, and it's going to take forever wherever/however we do it. But, better late than never, I suppose...
However, Auxesis just got a random religious spread, so I favour IW first, and then we could reconsider.

I like this idea. The Galley is too valuable, but we could try to get a WB out there. I'm not sure where would be best to produce this. Maybe Hyperbole itself, since it has relatively few good tiles to work so whipping is not that onerous.
FWI, pindicator may be connected somehow to our east. I noticed a few days ago that we have a trade connection with him now (like chumchu) despite our not having met. And I *think* this appeared when we settled Hyperbole.

Moai gives some passive Great Prophet points, and would be very useful besides. Does it make sense to get it going in Metonymy with the aid of chops and whip-overflow while we tech to IW, then circle back later to put a Temple in there for the specialist? Or is it not worth building without stone?

Well, it costs 250H before any discounts, so as long as it contributes more than 250H throughout the game it will be worth it. The city isn't a military pump and we don't have any other good uses for the hammers while we grow (WBs excepted).
Let's put the current Settler OF into the Moai and start to build it. We'll have to mine some of the hills: the city has too much food to sustain the happy cap at present.
We'll need a Temple there as well, otherwise we face a 100 turn wait before the first GP comes to us.

If it has too much food, then build workers / settlers and max out the whip overflow into Moai ... then you get something out of the food.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

OK, I messed up. While I was ingame scoping things out, I fatfingered a Scout move, then I compounded my carelessness with stupidity and moved it back to its original location as opposed to leaving the 1 move on it. That was really dumb of me and I apologize.
As penance for my foolishness, I offer the following thought: should we try another map trade with NC? It's possible he and chumchu have traded, we aren't natural enemies so he might accept, and I'd like to do aggressive map trading before we try to explore terra incognita by sea.

No worries. It's not like we're using him to protect our whole empire from an Impi.
We have traded maps with NC before. I'll think about offering, though we were the ones to do so last time.
Do you think we should settle this location aggressively? Note the (Woodsman II) Vulture in the vicinity:
A bridge city would be very useful. However, it's hard to defend, especially before we can ferry across more units. Our unpromoted Axe would get about 70% odds on defense, if it takes Combat I.
If only one Vulture remains, I'm tempted to say YOLO, to play casually and have fun. But then if Elkad does to us what we did to gsorel, then we're not going to stop him.
