Everyone I have demos on doesn't look like they those people, unless I am misreading Superdeath's graphs. I can crank up the slider and get about 72 GNP. That makes me 2nd. The 120 GNP is astoundingly high. I am guessing hoping that is a LOT of culture bloat. Or maybe a big known tech bonus? Speaking of the mids...
Love the naming scheme. Can I suggest Yurtsterday? Back in the G.E.R.?
Completed: RB Demogame - Gillette, PBEM46, Pitboss 13, Pitboss 18, Pitboss 30, Pitboss 31, Pitboss 38, Pitboss 42, Pitboss 46, Pitboss 52 (Pindicator's game), Pitboss 57
In progress: Rimworld
Those are excellent suggestions. It’s clear that my low number of cities at this point is because of a lack of good names, which makes all of us to blame. So it’s the lurkers’ fault if I lose.
I built the mids and revolted. They need to do a lot of work...
I think a lot of people over-expanded. It is very odd that Judaism is still out there. This, among all of the incredibly low GNPs, except for #1 guy with 138 suggests to me that people are limping to currency.
Here's a semi non-sequitur about why I think JR4 is, as the kids say, crushing it. Here's the island situation. It seems fairly easy to get two or three cities on these Crete-shaped Conflict Islands. Ipecac already has a silver hooked, so he settled his southern silver already. As I previously indicated, nearly every city except for the capital should be coastal. It's not unreasonable then to have 8-10 coastal cities by now. That extra trade route at +2 FREE commerce is huge. This also makes the Colossus interesting to pursue as well, since that wonder apparently hits all water tiles again. I think the Great Lighthouse probably kicks the shit out of whatever I'll get from rep in the short term. And, of course, the mids are about ~330 hammers (3+ settlers) of opportunity cost. Fortunately, libraries are cheap for me. All I need is 23 modified hammers into a library for a 2-pop whip. It's really tough, as all of you surely know, to whip big infrastructure in RtR without modifiers (see future discussion about an OR detour). Libraries are going up soon in And I Love Ger and Golden Horde Slumbers at the risk of military security. The goal over the next 15 turns is to settle another 3 cities. Two is doable for sure, 3 is a little tight. But I need to catch up in foodhammer development. Planned tech path is currency into either CoL, or, if Judaism is still available, to Monotheism for the chance to get OR. I am certainly a fan of detouring down the religious path to get the extra bonus on CoL on priesthood along with a mess of overflow. Metal Casting is a strong option also. Cities: Demos: Also, none of my neighbors nor those I have a trade connection with have IW. I think that was a thing also.

Superdeath bugged me two turns in a row for OBs. Graphs confirm he has the nutty GNP and he has OBs with ipecac. I am reasonably certain that ipecac does not have currency (since we can't trade gold), so he's giving him free routes. Well, someone is giving away 15gnp worth of routes, at least. The demos were prettier before some whipping, but I'm happy to only be ~18% behind the CY lead. This city is good. Silver will be hooked in time for size 13. If Dark Savant attacks me, I will not be happy. I'm hoping he's going to go pile on Charriu. I can't defend a full-fledged attack down there, but could in about 6 turns.
Work consumes my time at the moment. That and the little wetbandida. Unintentionally, when I've logged in to play turns, usually something comes up that pulls my attention or my entire body away from the computer, so it just looks like I've been playing 45 minute turns on civstats.
Somehow I'm the only person with currency, unless someone else got it this turn. Amazingly I am likely also going to be the first to CoL, so thank you very much for that religion. I don't know if I've personally played a game of civ, SP and MP, where Confucianism was the third religion founded. I'm thinking someone has probably done an oracle slingshot and made it happen. Wealth builds inflating GNP, Scientists also helping out. Thank heavens for the big pile of rocks. Cap is at size 11 but has to grow its own cottages. That's the downfall with the settling plan so far, I have amazingly little tile overlap between cities. Hopefully will have some time for a detailed overview this weekend if that is of interest, especially if I land the religion. |
