Your first round choices are:
Ethiopia
Hannibal (Fin, Org)

I show Hannibal as FIN/CHA in 2.0.8.4. Can you confirm this is the same in .5? I am guessing it should be.
I know I will at least be re-rolling the civ, waiving Ethiopia, despite the decent starting techs. But I'll have to make my leader decision tomorrow.

I can confirm that I took leader traits from a wiki for Beyond the Sword, and also that I typed it manually rather than copy/paste. Definitely trust your test more than that!

Sorry for the delay, Mardoc. I'll take Hannibal and re-roll the civ.
Didn't think I would want FIN again but it is a good bet on a water map and CHA was the trait I wanted most, making this combo a keeper.
With CHA
--extra happiness
--beeline to Construction assured with opening Ivory and cheap Colosseum (the latter plus Barracks gets me that second promo too).
--Nice discount on Libraries for my coastal cities, with an extra two pop points available to whip or grow into. If I let the cities grow, I'd just need Lighthouses to hoard early commerce and then maybe make a run at Colossus to really maximize my tech early on.
I did consider going for Monty for cheap warring builds and -25% maintenance, but in the end determined that leveraging FIN on the seas with Hannibal would beat SPI (one day I may actually choose this trait....) since I am pretty sure that 'Mids will not be part of my initial plan.
