I was looking forward to a classical start, but the religion difference is too much of an advantage for whoever gets it, so ancient for me.
No strong opinion on events/AI diplo, you can put me as blank. I am (perhaps foolishly) trusting whoever actively voted in favour of events to have looked through the list and made sure none of the terribly unbalanced or annoying ones remain.
I'm hesitant to give myself more work, but can I mess with religion in the world builder? I'm thinking I could put all the holy cities in a dummy civ and have the barbs raze it. Could also give everyone a missionary to start with.

Thanks TBS!

TBS, I trust you to do whatever you think works with making the map fun to play, and the game balanced. If you think you can sort the religions out, then go for it.

You could also put all the holy cities into an unreachable barb city. That way you don't need the dummy civ.

I also looked at the 4.1.1.2 version and noticed some errors on start and that game options are missing. I will have a look at it tomorrow.

Welcome aboard, there is still space, sign ups are open. If there is anyone else you know who wants to play, please, tell them about the game
Actually, I have an idea that can be implemented in the mod and will be a systematic solution. I can change the shrines to have a max start era, so the first three religions can only be shrined in ancient games, Confucianism shrined in classical and ancient games, and the the last three religions need medieval starts or earlier to be shrined.
The problem then is how to get players to start with a random missionary...if we think we need to do that? We probably do... |
