It is good to be off from school.
pocketbeetle Wrote:Anyone know why SleepingMoogle lied/ mislead/ changed his mind over a 1 day period?
From what I can grasp, SleepingMoogle wants to get the AP more slowly, not building it immediately but after he's expanded a fair amount [after all, he knows that after those religions and wonders he is behind in expansion], and consequently Moogle didn't think that the AP constituted a wonder that he needed to tell Sandover he was building. I'm not sure I would agree with this logic, but that is how he seems to be thinking.
pocketbeetle Wrote:Is Sandover merely requesting like-for-like information (and expecting to receive first) or would lurkers say he's expecting information without giving equally in return?
It seems to me that Sandover asks first for info from another player, with the implicit suggestion that he would give the other player info in return. Other players, in this game at least, seem to favor being forward and open with info, if you want the same in return. So it has rubbed some players the wrong way when they gave Sandover info, he responded with some of his and then immediately asked for more info.
Upon further review I also noticed that some of his letters to people he didn't particularly like [i.e. Moogle+Twinkletoes] seem to be channeling the real Pharoahs, because they are COLD. His tone right now is probably going to prevent him from ever being friends with either nation for quite a while.

Quote:It looks like he never quite caught on that an Industrious Civ (especially one with a source of Silver!) should be whipping Forges like there's a leather sale going on. Granted, they're building pretty quickly anyway, but with each pop point being worth 40 (instead of the usual 20 on Quick), plus the fact that overflow gets multiplied, plus the fact that the whip unhappiness will be offset by the extra +1 from Silver . . . well, I think I've made my point.
While I agree with your sentiment, the overflow is not multiplied. Or rather it appears to be multiplied, but when you pick your next build, the overflow is corrected.
So industrious leader building forge on quick speed, has it at 79/80, and whips it for one population.
Hammer box shows 119/80, so you might think you'd get 39 hammers overflow.
But next turn when you pick your next build, the overflow will get adjusted and you'll only get 19-20 hammers.
It does work the same way in reverse though - if you whip something INTO a double speed building (like an IND forge) you DO get the multiplied overflow. Like if you whipped a worker and had 15 overflow hammers and put that into a forge, it would show up as 30/80.

The overflow does get the +25% multiplier from the forge though, which may have been what Whosit meant.
I have to run.

This is what I meant. Sorry, I see that what I said was not clear. Either way, TT does not seem to be making the most of his trait right now. With an early Metal Casting grab, his cities should already be production powerhouses.

Sandover/TwinkleToes diplomacy is gettign kind of interesting. Personally, I can't wait for the first war to break out.
What does everyone think about TT's decision to starve his city instead of whipping it? It seems quite sub-optimal to me. Aside from the fact that he's not getting to convert food into hammers, starving a city means it takes that much longer to grow back, especially if you're starving more than the city can get as a surplus. It seems to negate the benefits of having a granary.

For me at least, it was another "oh dear" moment.

Oh, and guess how SleepingMoogle is building his forges.

Maybe he's just missed it in the log then?

IIRC, if you don;t have contact, the BIDL doesn't show up.
