I am reminded of the saying “you can’t tell 9 women to produce a baby in 1 month” when I try to visualize a 13-pop ICBM whip. The engineers are probably still working on the warhead from inside the casing while it’s being wheeled to the launchpad

But yeah, large cities are a thing of the past now. Riots have finally made it impossible, even if I wasn't desperately whipping everything to keep up with Miguelito. We aren't going to have much above 15, let alone 20. Besides, that's the point of food corporations, right? Small, angry cities?

Is Brick still around? I know he was dealing with some pretty serious personal stuff a while ago.

I'm sure they figured it out with enough incentive. I also love the image of hundreds of thousands of people giving their lives just to produce 1 measly nuclear weapon. This really is getting quite dystopian.

T242 Part One - How The Turn Tables...
Fuck. I'm panicking!
So I spent a while trying to figure out what this meant, before closing it. I think I've already mentioned Mig's incomprehensible (but specific!) diplo a few times. But when many of these deals came afterwards...
...I think I've figured out what Miguelito meant. "Give me your Mining Resources, or something bad with nukes happens." And here's the problem: while I was fighting Piccadilly for Miguelito, and he was blocking me on the Lazteuq continent, I had all the leverage. I said 'go away,' Miguelito didn't, and so I used that leverage to make a favourable peace with Piccadilly. But now that I'm not fighting Piccadilly anymore, I need Miguelito to kill him, which means I've unwittingly handed all of that leverage back over to Mig. I might be missing something, but I can't think of anything else the demands after the Uranium offer could imply...
My initial hope was that if nothing else, this means he's accepting me invading Laz/Charriu, just at a very heavy price?
Or maybe not. Far from retreating, Miguelito is still advancing troops at sea and on land. Maybe these are just more leverage: " Give me your Mining Resources, or else I will Ruin you. " It's hard to say. I accepted 2 or 3 offers, and declined the rest. Then I offered him one more, for free again, and some for crop resources (he has no gpt). I guess at least the more his economy is entwined with mine, the less likely he is to go to war again. But yeah, this is bad. Like, really bad. If I'm right about Miguelito's meaning, he thinks that he can squeeze every last drop out of us. He's probably correct.

T243 Part Two - Some Interesting Tidbits
So I'm pretty sure we're in 'Disaster Mode' with Miguelito's offer, but I guess there's nothing I can do but keep on chugging.
Lazteuq abandoned Barbar Central, and stuffed everything into Barbar8 in the south.
There are so many units that even with bombers I can only get 30-40% odds on the attack, so he's safe for now. I can't capture Barbar Central without it being retaken, so I haven't yet.
What I'd really like to do is somehow get a settler on the island to establish a clear ring of borders, which would stop any attacks (from Lazteuq, at least). I have devised a tenuous plan for that, but it will take a few turns at least. For this turn, two workers go into Constellation and Mutual Core, from which they will be airlifted next turn.
In domestic news, I was this close to spreading Standard Ethanol into the capital before realising that it would remove Cereal Mills. Phew.
I thought this was interesting. The first location for tactical nuke whips will actually be Tarkeel's lands, not the core, because the cities are large and I need those nukes ASAP.
The other prime location for the first round is our Astro Island. I'm still a little surprised we got these cities, but boy am I glad we did!
These will all be whipped next turn. Their target(s) are an artificially suspenseful mystery.
Another weird thing: despite having Cereal Mills in nearly 100 cities now, my MFG has still overtaken my Food.
It's probably a combination of whipping Coal Plants in a lot of cities recently, and replacing all those useless farms and cottages with workshops. A lot of those hammers are going into Industrialisation of the Western Continent, but then again it doesn't count whips. I think it's safe to say that I'm outproducing Miguelito right now, but at the cost of both science/economy, and being temporary. It's a difficult situation - I can outproduce Miguelito, but then he continues snowballing ahead in Science. Or maybe I could keep up in science (but stay behind overall), but then he'd outproduce me. So far, I've gone for the first option.
Another demos thing: the Civ population equation is rubbish. This is the biggest Empire I've ever seen in a Civ game (although I'm sure there has been bigger somewhere), and my population barely even scratches 100 million. Imagine getting to real-world China or India levels of people!
Finally, I realised this turn that Notre Dame has gone from useless to arguably the 2nd-most impactful wonder in the game. Definitely wasn't expecting that when I built it.

This is indeed Very Bad. My picture didn't save, but Mig offered Uranium for my remaining gold. The message is pretty clear, at least I didn't misinterpret him last turn. Pretty much all I can do right now is grit my teeth and bear it.
We've just finished Laser and have quite a few options, so this feels like a good time to mention tech. Basically, we're significantly behind Mig, with no good way to catch up. In terms of military techs vs. Miguelito, Mig is up Computers, Robotics, and Composites. Which means he's up Modern Armour and Mech Infantry. I am up Artillery, but that's not an expensive tech at this stage. Technically I am also up Laser, but he finishes that this turn, so not really. I mean, on the one hand, thank goodness I took the greedy peace. I was 100% correct that I had no chance to compete with Mig post-Piccadilly without something changing. But also, I don't really have a way to catch up, so the tech deficit is probably permanent.
As far as more productive, short-term thinking, I can go for Advanced Flight (Gunships, Jet Fighters), or Computers (prereq) into Composites (Modern Armour) and Robotics (Mechanized Infantry + Missile Cruisers). I put it on Advanced Flight, because I think the fighters and gunships will be 100% necessary to compete with Mig's land army. They're the only answer I have for Modern Armour especially, which completely shred anything of mine.
Want to know something really stupid? I accepted Mig's demand (what else am I supposed to do?), which sucked up all my gold. "Nice corporation spreads, Amica."
Bah, what a disaster. At least the name of the city is fitting.
Edit: Is it acceptable form to offer someone a deal, wait for them to log in, and see if they accept it? I am considering offering Dullland a loan, to at least spread my corporation around this turn, but I'm not sure if it's fair in a turn-based game. I'll just assume I shouldn't wait unless someone says something.

T244 Part Two - A Crumb of Happiness
Well I might have been so tilted that I didn't think of it for nearly two hours, but I did at least think of a way to acquire some gold.
Of course, I've now picked up an extra 500 gold with that loan (if Frozen/Dullland accepts)for Miguelito to just demand away again. Oops. So I've tried to finesse my economy to spend just under 500, with some wealth builds. This is the most ridiculous game.
