[NO 73 PLAYERS] Lurkers Monitoring Variance

Sam infantry will only trade with arty on defensive terrain or with promotions, but once stacks starting showing up arty will win and can't be collateral. Chariots will die to anything including warriors unless they are split (which raises interesting tactical considerations).

Nothing can atack into arty, even tanks cant do that. just some city razing and this kind of stuff, moving with a stack around to conquer well that is imposible. They are bulet proof for a very long time.

Take Laser as the tech and build Mobile SAM launcher. 220 hammers is as expensive as a wonder but 22 str and 2 movement points should be able to handle artillery.

Don't these require oil?
If only you and me and dead people know hex, then only deaf people know hex.

Someday Civlopedia will let me down, and on that die I will cry and die instantly.

Anyway, it looks like Tarkeel & Co. did a good job with the starts. Golfclap
Luddite has an interesting position in the snake pick now because there are exactly as many starts as players, unlike for leaders and civs and even techs.
Participated in: Pitboss 40 (lurked by Mr. Cairo), Pitboss 45 (lurked by Charriu and chumchu), Pitboss 63 (replaced Mr. Cairo), Pitboss 66Pitboss 69, Pitboss 74, Pitboss 78 (lurked by GT), Pitboss 79 (lurking Giraflorens), Pitboss 81 (lurking giraflorens),
Participating in: Pitboss 83 (lurking Krill),

Criticism welcome!

Scooter has a very strong opening here with any civ or leader.  Mansa works very well saving 1 turn of anarchy for Bureaucracy and another for the swap to slavery in the early game.  Add in financial to boost up the base commerce to get multiplied through Bureaucracy and help him power through the early techs.

7 turn worker followed by growth to 2 on the Deer (6 turns if the worker starts with the camp so Hunting needs to be in by eot8).  WB takes 7 turns (6 while growing at 4 hpt and 1 working both deer).

15 turns in he's size 2 with 6/24 food, 1 camped deer, 1 netted lake fish, and 2t into the second Deer camp.  +9 food per turn means size 3 eot 16.  2nd camp finishes on t17 bring the city up to +12 fpt at size 3.
Size 5 eot 21 and an easy 2 pop settler whip on t23.  (Non Spiritual leader is 2t slower, Spi/Exp is 1t faster)

He needs Hunting by eot8 and fishing by eot7.  I don't know what tech costs are on this map but he can certainly tech one or the other if not both so he's got some civ flexibility in terms of starting techs.

(I might have had a bit too much caffeine today.....wink )

The other nice thing about Civil Service: It's got the beaker oomph to get through Metal Casting in good time which opens up an Oracle into Machinery for super early Maces.
