( SPOILERS ) Superdeath Makes 45 Great Again.

Alright, enough memes. Lets get back to RNG kicking me in the shins and then pissing on me.

Not even a hit. What is this horseshit. Apparently HER EMAILS was just a ghost ship.

I was kinda curious why my carefully calculated whipping/planning had a city unhappy this turn. Checked to see that Mr.Cairo no longer wants me to be stalling Naufragar.

2t from razing his 2nd city unless its FULL of units. Crossbows dont scare me nearly as much as 8str units do. Magic Science why did you accept peace bro?
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

8 2+promo horse archers will raze as much as possible before they are killed and i resort to good ol' archer whips in all my cities for the next 20t. Full Montezuma.

The perfect music for this pitboss as i end my turn..

Japan deserves my western cities for their well timed samurai attack, and the effort they seem to be putting in to end me. I declared on Mr.Cairo this turn to set the turn split up. He can whip next turn, but its all about how he moves his units. I sent him a peace treaty to hopefully either A: make him think im just afraid about a dogpile, or B: give me 10 turns of freedom from Mr.Cairo to possibly make Japan whip a bunch. Im as excited as you to find out what happens next!

Took a chance on Mr.Cairo's probably loaded galley... lost. Only hit the fucker once.

Here is the bullshit that has made me be alot more DGAF this pitboss.

Flawless win at 88.5%.
Hit only once at 95%.
a decent fight that ALMOST beat the samurai at 88.9%.
another FLAWLESS win at 90.8%.

Mr.Cairo has 4 spears in every border city. .. So lets see if Japan has the same. popcorn

Those are his odds to win, not yours... alright

Oh and there's a duplicate picture in there.

Yeah, you losing those battles was the expected outcome. Killing the treb and losing to 4 Samurai feels about right, but losing every battle (or the treb withdrawing) wouldn't have been unusual.

Losing the battles is not my issue. Flawless wins are. Forgive me for not understanding combat in its entirety, but archers have 1 free first strike right? Wouldn't that guarantee no one gets a flawless win vs an archer or am i just stupid?

hoping that archer made him move a defender out to try and kill it before it landed on his gems..  hammer

That's not how free strikes work.

DeepO, who wrote the ingame combat calculator for Civ4, explains it on Apolyton

Basically: If you have archers defending against Samurai, and teh Samurai are getting 90% odds, your free strikes aren't going to do anything (and because they start with Drill2, they negate the integral free strike from teh archer anyway).
