I thought of another for and another against -
For - you might want to build lots of warriors as cheap MP and to fog bust, so hooking copper early isn't that great.
Against - the cap can work lake tiles while city 2 works the cow...

Well there's also stuff in the east for a future good site.
Site n°7 is an interesting spot, although it would need agri soonish. Scout will be heading E and warrior will go SE-SW in the next 2 turns before probably going back to the future city site. Or scout a turn more, I'll check when he's going to be really needed for settler protection.

Hey! You're winning!
Also site 6 looks great. Is it going to be commerce or production though? I'm hoping the latter as chopping in a barracks would be nice and quick... Lets hope for more hills to the south.

If my foggazing skills are not utter rubbish there are a few hills down there. 2S and 2S1E of the corn seem like plain hills and 1S of the peak is either another peak or a hill. But I might very well be mistaken.
Edit : It's even better than that. But the tile 2S of the site is a peak.

With the marble there city 6 looks better and better... I added 8a which needs Calander and 8b which doesn't, but will lose out on commerce. I can't fault the rest of the dotmap. I think the best order will be 7-2-6 although you could try 6-7-2 and attempt to chop the Oracle in 7, or you could settle 2-7-6 if you're feeling threatened.
I didn't have time to try out the speeds that the cities set up. Maybe tomorrow...

Overall we need culture, chopping barracks in some cities will be sufficient (like in site 6 which has lots of 2nd ring resources) but sites like 4 have no choppable forests and lots of 2nd ring resources, is an early religion possible ?

The trouble with 4 is that someone else will plant a city on that coast and steal the clam... Looking at it again that is a pretty weak city deep in your back lines that you can probably delay settling until you're ready for your first golden age and use Caste artists to pop the borders.
Actually now I'm wondering if you should settle 2 on the desert for early commerce from the gold. That allows another city 1s of the copper too, but then it invalidates 5 (or 7 if 5 moves 1s). And we don't want to do that since 5 is a great Moai site - it can get up to a size to use all the water tiles really quick, then let other cities use the rice and corn - while 7 is going to be an amazing production city.
This is really tough to dotmap!
On border popping - If you can designate your cities as commerce or production nice and early then Libraries and Barracks can pop their borders. At the point where religion is useful you'll have Praets to go and steal it from someone... I wonder if Sailing and Iron Working would allow you to deliver Praets right into the heart of a neighbour?

It could be worth scouting the west to see what's on the other side of that lake (I think it's a lake), in any case I think 7 is probaby our best bet, the worker can road there then pasture the pig while we get agri.

The map will force us into tough decisions, no obvious city sites is pretty unusual. Our gold is in a difficult position and the copper closest to us has food on the other side of it making us do lots of short term/long term choices. Interesting map
