He might be looking for a sign of peace. I would open borders with him.
ok. I just realized that he has an airship now in blink 182, so its not like we can hide the contents of our border city from him.
I'll offer next time I log in. also think I'll pull the knights back to Paradise lost, and the cats back to 2 squares away from the exodus (whether the smaller cat stack was). this will give us more flexibility, and maybe come off as less threatening. I don't want him to think we're building up a stack on his borders to maybe invade.

I did want to wait till some wars have been finished, but with all the downtimes lately I figured I rather ask now and maybe save sunrise the hassle of putting up the game again and again.
I obviously am in favour of conceding but to not spoil something that might not be known to all players I would like not to elaborate why, except to say that I do have to invest ~30-60 minutes per day at a minimum to play my turn and that is something I would love to save at this point where the outcome does not seem in doubt anymore to me.
really not happy w/ Serdoa for posting this. I still think we have a shot of pulling out a CV, and anyway would like hte opportunity. but I have to be discreet. So basically I have to convince everyone to keep playing the game while at the same time appearing as if I want to concede

On the plus side if he feels like not warring we might have one less person paying attention to our culture victory and a safe border!
thats what I was thinking, actually. I think serdoa and commodore both made it clear they aren't going to be fighting for victory, which means they aren't going to fight that hard to stop us. and I was never worried about slowcheetah. which pretty much means Plako is our only threat . we'll have rifling in 4 turns. I'll have to put some on the serdoa border, but I think I'll gather the bulk of them around Divine comedy, close enough they can strike west if Plako attacks - seems like he's going to be the biggest threat from here on out.

Commodore: Sigh. So you really think Plako doesn't know?

me: no
although apparently serdoa doesnt know, if he does he's kind of a dick
even besides that, serdoa is just barely behind plako, disappointed serdoa doesnt want to try and win, as long as we've played already
Commodore: Or else, he realizes it's hopeless like everyone else.
me: lol
oh well, i've been a lot of blood sweat and tears into this game, im going to try :P
plus
if we keep playing
I have a chance to pass you in score and get 3rd
:P

Commodore: And the rest of us enjoy the heartburn, gotcha.
Swiftly may Plako's tank come, then.
me: lol, man

really disappointed in commodore and Serdoa both here. I can totally understand if Xenu or scooter want the game to end, but C & S are still players here. Serdoa especially - I think his economy is very close to plakos, and he can always farm over those workshops to make it even better (he's in representation and environmentalism, so farms and specialists both mean a great deal to him). and with courthouses everywhere, plus the full monk economy, and a very nice shrine thanks to us spreading buddhism everywhere, he should be close to 80%+ breakeven rate. could be even higher with more farms. I think Serdoa could very easily beat Plako to a space ship, especially if he found a way to conquer Xenu.
Even besides that, its very clear to everyone, I think, by now that we are attempting a CV. I think its poor form to try and get a concession when that is still up in the air . and I don't really appreciate the guilt trip from commodore either .
Anyway does seem obvious I'll need to focus most of my military attention on plako. im thinking I'll need to position a navy on the north coast to protect gilgamesh, and most of the rifles near Divine Comedy in the south. probably need to get that planned out within the next 10 turns.

I also think that's poor form from Com (and Serdoa?)
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.
1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.
2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.
3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.
4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.
