If you'd rather shoot Parkin twice and put a dunce cap on him rather than admit that he cheated, then please do the honors. Oh and unit names are part of in-game text.

1. I think he can plausibly say that he messed up when he named that unit. I've already said that.
2. LP can plausibly claim that he has trouble playing.

I don't think LP looks good ether way. If he is lying lol . If he is not lying he's naïve and doesn't understand the consequences of his earlier actions. LP loses ether way. So this is totally pointless and I don't care. I'll stop posting here unless someone flames me.

I was going to post this in the tech thread:

Quote:Well, that sucks, Seven.

I think you should start by apologizing to your fellow players and thanking suttree, who pointed out the rules that were broken. Then I think you need to offer to make it better somehow. Finally, you should probably indicate that you now understand the rule you broke and that you won't break it again.

But I don't want to troll Seven and I don't want to post in the tech thread. So I'll just post it here, for posterity. lol

I personally think that sort of city trade should always be permitted.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Now you need to define "that sort of". smile
I have to run.

Define in terms of soldier points within 2 tiles of a city as a ratio is my suggestion.

Something like that.

I mean I have in multiple instances used a tactic of threatening a more important city of an opponent to get s closer to my borders city in a peace deal and to me, that's a deal that's beneficial to both parties without being unfair to other competitors and I think it should be allowed, as well as all instances where there is a real threat outside the gates of the city in question.

To me, this is a lot like the old argument we used to have when we had full diplo about screenshot trading. There used to be an argument for it to wait until Paper and then people would say well, what's to stop me from just drawing a picture or describing in detail, might as well just allow it all immediately. Well, here's what's to stop you - common sense. What's to stop me from rerolling combats in a PBEM or what's to stop me from reading everyone's lurker thread or what's to stop me from doing diplo in chat in a no-diplo game, etc. I mean double move issues still exist from time to time in Pitbosses here but the most successful rule we've ever had was "don't do it." We used to describe it in quintuplicate at there'd be 10 issues per game, now we say don't do it and most games have no issues.

I know we've had issues in a few games recently but if you look across the course of RB history, the majority of games have had no issues from this. I think we're overreacting a bit to PB13 simply because it was a high profile game with, quite frankly, a lot of sanctimonious whining in the lurker thread. I'm not saying there weren't city gifts in that game I didn't think shouldn't be kosher, there were, but I think a simple "this - let us not do" is at least as effective as rule by fiat.

Call me Pollyanna I guess, but this is why I hang out at RB and not super-serious-uber-gamer central.

Quadruple negative? Although my parser started belching smoke after reading that, I don't think it means what you think it means...

How does a bucket put out smoke?

You fill the bucket with water.

Fool! You put out fire with water, not smoke. The smoke condenses into a giant DaveV and kills you.
