even if fhe could keep the reach city for free, the floody/gold site is still better for growth in a snowball sense. ichabod has a commanding lead in peaceful growth in the area, he can claim anything he wants militarily later.
Then there's the metagame impact: icky is the only empire in the area not at war (if you count slowcheetah down to 2 cities because of barbs) why would he go out of his way to piss someone off?

Wanted to comment shortly on the plako / Dhalphir situation. Started to do it in plakos thread but it is probably best if I keep out of that one. I guess I'm responsible for the situation because I should have researched Archery right away after copper was shown in that awful location but I thought I could get Chariots in time, not believing that plako would pink-dot me like that. I still don't think that is the right move because my goal in this game if I would still be playing would be to make him lose. Also I most likely wouldn't have settled the city without roads and just 1 warrior when he is spending EP still on me and snuffs for at least 6 turns now with his scout around my borders.
Still, I definitely should have gotten Archery. I might have - but part of why I didn't want to play this game any longer was that I didn't get into it and this error is just one of many that happened because I never did focus on the game. Sorry Dhalphir for getting you I this situation.

That's a really interesting city IMO, because it provides a lot of pressure on Inca just because of the cultural control over land. I don't see why he can't get the FP/gold site later, but TBH, I actually think that area is fairly shit short term. Not enough food. Not much better later on either. I'd have done what he has chosen, just I may have executed it differently: I'd at least had a road being made to the new city.

I don't think you could make him lose, not getting archery until after IW, and if you had gotten archery, I don't think he would have pink dotted you.

Maybe. I'm not so sure. Horses are online so even without Archery there should be Chariots running around soonish. I would have not whipped that warrior Dhalphir whipped so that would be one chariot and I would have had the scouting warrior back in that 4th city so he could not take it for free as he can now. Of course he has 2 more chariots so I would most likely have lost the city regardless. But that city is worthless except as filler, what hurts is losing the settler. Anyhow, I don't think even if that city would be lost that plakos position would necessarily be that much stronger in the short term. 4 cities to 3 is not an insurmountable lead and that city also means he has no copper still.
Still, not getting Archery was obviously bad play and I'm pissed at myself that I failed there.

I really want to know what transpired between suttree and yurimack. Is anyone able to get a snippet from either one of them on google chat or something?
Fie, fie! you visionary things.

How odd is it that both Commodore and ScooPin have a worker name like "hockey player". Only temporary, but that's a strange coincidence.
So happy these two are peaceful for now. For their own sakes!

Why, yes:

* Plako and Serdoa started next to each other. This is nice - at least someone good is there to keep Plako in check.
* Serdoa quits. Uh.
* Serdoa is replaced by unknown player, suspected green player
* Said green player starts thread in CivGeneral called "how do i mp"… That's the exact title.
* Plako logs in, razes city from said green player.
* WE REALLY ARE PLAYING PB8 AGAIN AHAH HA HA AH *dies*
Time to push for a concession?

The difference is that it was not the green players fault. Plako was ready to attack before Serdoa did quit. The city that got razed would have been dead anyway.
