I moved most of my army on a hill in Jowy's territory, right next to his super stack. His is a little bigger, my units are better and counter his nicely. Big fight likely happening soon, no idea if I just opened myself up for obliteration. He does have a cool 22 catapults in there, along with 19 axes and around 30 horse archers. I have 10 muskets, 10 maces, 15 catapults, 18 spears and a handful of axes and knights. I think I'll be safe on a hill, even with a full barrage of catapults.

Can anyone even catch up to Zanth/Gavagai? Cannons when the next tech leaders are barely at knights sounds just like a single player stomping. They can probably just gobble up their first couple of targets (looks like slowcheetah and then whoever he is next to) with just a single gren, a couple cannons, and a bunch of chariots for all the rest of their units will matter.

Is not that easy as it sounds,with numbers you can beat canons easily.Combat 2 knigs have 50% on canons, and dont forget canons are slow movers, so enough time for maneuvring.I think slow has an enough big empire to whip a bunch of cats knigs or even macemans do defend agains canonos with something.

More dangereous would be if the get loads of curirasiesr(gavagai and zanth) and some units with canonos and fork cities and get speed, without that any decent defender will toast bunch of canons.

does slowcheetah have knights though? i might be missing something, because he hasn't been updating, but just going by zanth's thread, gavangai's international tech report from like a month ago suggests that slowcheetah didn't even have feudalism yet as far as ~400 AD, (20 turns ago), and zanth said of this turn he didn't even have metalcasting, the prereq for machinery, a prereq of guilds. the strongest units he'll likely have are horse archers and swordsmen. who knows how reliable this information is, though...

edit: based on this recent screenshot from Mardoc's thread, looks like slowcheetah does indeed have feudalism now but no metal casting still...

Do you have an admin password to usurp Sian's civ? It's well past time to use it if you do. Even a rotating ad hoc committee of lurkers is better than the current situation. I could be prevailed upon to log in and play a blitz turn just to keep this thing moving for the other guys, just don't expect any wizardry or tactical brilliance.
