PBEM9 - Ruff Spoiler Thread

You have 5 forests to chop, and 1 food to improve in your capital, and a camp If you chop the furs you are an eternal n00b. That is a mere 24 turns to India, but doesn't include roads, which means 2 workers.

You need to find a second city site, which will tell you how much you need a second worker, or a third work boat. Also need to decide what you are going to slave, worker for 2 pop, settler...if you do decide to slave out something for 2 pop, well, I'd suggest you plant a city to take that crabs off your capital asap to make the most of your food. And hook the wheat before the furs.

Krill - check post #37 - that contains a shot of the land that I knew at that stage and includes some signs for cities (included here again). My thinking re 2nd city is 1W of the cows or the more stretch location that picks up the copper. The problem with the copper site is that it really needs a border pop to make it work.

I've see that our wandering warriors did yell and holl'a at each other across the lake. Can I ask which way you have come from so that I can go the other way to meet more civs. My warrior is from the deep SW.

Very chatty, I must say.
Pegasus Wrote:Greetings Ruff,

We have received great news from our Warrior Scout (Cheetarah) of making aquaintance with your exploring Warrior and the Indian empire.
I see he has been in the wars recently and wish him a speedy recovery. With this in mind, Cheetarah has headed South West due to a Barb Bear about 3/4 tiles north of you (disappeared from our view on the inter turn). Has your brave warrior withstood all nasty animals or are there more around that Cheetarah needs to be aware of?

May this first meeting between us be the start to a long and lasting friendship.
Quote:Greetings Pegasus,

It is always good to receive unexpected messages. I haven't seen the turn yet so your information may be more current than mine.

Have you met any others? I have met Sylon and Mackoti

Where are you generally located? I am in the South West, Sylon roughly North of me and Mackoti is (as I understand it), to the North of the central area where we've just met.

Just to keep my two friends updated, I have just been contacted by Pegasus. I haven't seen the game so I don't know any other details.

Its been a while since an update ...

It is currently T44 and everyone else has 2 cities. I just whipped my first settler and will have my second city in next turn (or the turn after). It will go beside the cows, picking up the firs as well as the clams. I think I have some catch up to do.

My scouting warrior picked up some promotions and is now Woodie II ... I will be using him to run back and forth to keep up to date re my section of the map.

Here is an interesting pic from a few turns ago ...

I'll do a full update when I get the turn next (T45).

Ok, maybe not on T45 ... this game is doing the rounds very nicely if a little too quickly for reports.

I was the last person to get their 2nd city out. I feel as if I am behind the 8-ball because of that. However, on the flip side, my new city does have an improved tile to work. I also have 2 workers out so that has to be a small plus.

Here is the land around my capital. I have put in some city markers. My next city will have to be the one that picks up copper and it will need a border pop to do that. I'm a little nervous about my lack of military (2 warriors, 1 with Woodie II and one in the capital). I might pick up archery to build some archers while my copper city border pops.

On the plus side, I am at the end of a peninsula and should have lots of warnings re incoming units. My woodie II warrior will be running back and forth near 'Wonderland' to give early warning of any such unit movements.

Speaking of Wonderland ... here is my map of the area. It looks very taste but I think it might actually be a death trap ... anyone that puts a city in there will become enemy #1.

I need to defog those two tiles to see if I should move my 'Sealing City' 1 tile NE - sure, it would put lots of peaks in its BFC, but it would make it very save from attack while commanding a very good sally point N, W and E.

Future Plans
Here is what I would like to do:
 • 3rd city asap to pick up copper
 • build some MP units
 • capture Stonehenge
 • capture Great Lighthouse
 • put out a galley / fishing boat to explore land SE of my land

That shouldn't be too hard should it? I'd be happy if I completed that but lost the race to the 4th city. I feel as if I am in the lucky position that I won't get challenged for my land.

Now, if the land to my SE looks promising, I might consider running a split empire - mainland concentrating on military while the cities on the islands concentrate on tech. That would mean having a strong navy but I don't see a problem with that.

Highlights from this turn ...
 • Sylon has a second city
 • CIPMAC's production is going through the roof (18 hammers per turn) - that must be a wonder with a doubler
 • CIPMAC has writing (got it a turn or 3 ago)
 • I think Pegasus is the other person with a religion (based on culture graph)
 • I double whipped both of my cities

The tile 2NE of Sealing City looks like a peak to me. In which case, Sealing City's current location is probably good.

What's CIPMAC?
I have to run.

It is a peak - good call.

Its mackoti's in-game name.

In other news, everyone else now has 3 cities. I still have 2. I must think that I am playing against AIs. Dam Sullla and Krill for teaching everyone how to expand like crazy!
