Is that character a variant? (I just love getting asked that in channel.) - Charis |

What exactly is the situation with the Whisper, is it that it doesn't work on human civs? Or just disabled for MP?
Traditionally we have pointed out misunderstanding of game mechanics, ignorance of bugs, etc.

Well I'm just going by the FFH2 manual, which is outdated, but it says "does not work in multiplayer."
Civilization IV: 21 (Bismarck of Mali), 29 (Mao Zedong of Babylon), 38 (Isabella of China), 45 (Victoria of Sumeria), PB12 (Darius of Sumeria), 56 (Hammurabi of Sumeria), PB16 (Bismarck of Mali), 78 (Augustus of Byzantium), PB56 (Willem of China)

How is Bob even going to be able to research Fanaticism (a prerequisite of Malevolent Designs) while playing as Hyborem?
![]() Anyway I think even if they pull the Whisper plan off, they can't win; Bob and Selrahc don't have Commando; they'll be obliterated the moment they attempt to invade... The lack of a Baron at this point also means Selrahc's going to have a lot of trouble trying to even get some werewolves. Beasts of Agares reduces a city's population by 4, doesn't it? For the Infernals, is it even worth doing so, considering that they can't grow population normally? And by T220, Pb may even have already built the Nox Noctis. darrelljs Wrote:Traditionally we have pointed out misunderstanding of game mechanics, ignorance of bugs, etc. I don't think telling Bob his plan won't work is really a "game mechanic" issue. To me it's getting a little close to telling Iskander that "Kurio airships are not more powerful than raider centaur archers." I think a game mechanic is more "I'm going to whip 2 pop which will give me 40 hammers, right?" being responded to with "actually, on quick speed it's 30 hammers" or whatever the numbers would be. In a mod where half the challenge is finding out all of the cool and crazy stuff that's been added I'd personally err on the side of not giving unsolicited advice, particularly on important decisions for the players. Infernals don't get the population or unrest penalty from build Beasts of Agares.

Sareln Wrote:None taken. This was my first MP experience ever, I think I've been suitably chastised by it Well, it was a long journey, full of ups and downs. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts post-mortem, as it were, if you cared to share. Probably mentioned this upthread - I really felt that Bob squandered your civilization's potential as an ally by not giving you more land to extend into... |
