I'm thinking whether it would be possible for Azza to chariot-rush Persia... They have their copper pretty far away and, for practical purposes, need to research sailing to get it. Last time I checked they were not going to settle copper city early. Of course, they can move up their schedule after they see Azza's city. But still, chariot-rush seems viable.
Of course, this assumes spoiler knowledge which I have and Azza hasn't. Without this knowledhe chariot rush is an enourmous risk. If I were on Azza's place, I would most probably go for offshore copper.

However, he should not be mining some crappy grass hill, he should be roading up to the city so he can immediately build a chariot or two to defend his holdings. That's 8(!) worker turns needed.
I count 11 turns if he roads through the forests and 10 if he does both grasslands and the deserts. Plus 4 turns for the wheel, so turn 49 to hook the cap with a road unless workers are double-teamed, and still gotta pasture horsies for chariots. And then build one.

Perhaps you're mistaking this one play for some other players who do it consistently, say, for example, Azza?
Nah I'm sure he'll be fine, reckon he'll stack the city with axes spears chariots archers some pretty good units. That should defray kuruwet's capital border pop too. Warrior choke FTW maybe?
e: Oops I forgot about the grassland defensive bonus.

If Azza wasn't dragging the chain this'd remind me of CERN or something. Unentangled particles smashing into one another. Turn rate is fantastic!

Looks like the door is wide open for KuroBah to semi-slowbuild TGL with LordWilliamLPlunder out of the running.

After disappointingly sane starts, looks like we're getting some proper green weed now:
-Azza's NEON PINK DOT
-Kurudit's "ARCHER RUSH!!!"
-Xenu's sacrifice-it-all-for-'henge-that-nobody-else-bothers-with.
-Kuro, of course, keeping Kuro.
-Oxy's "GUY 20 TILES AWAY, ATTACK!" plan that can only help Xenu/Suttree if it succeeds.
-Sisu's Hoggish Tree Hatin' Hour.
And promising paranoia in Plunderwill Land...

Shit, I didn't see reteps thread until now. That's impressive. 3 hooked food and a mine for 4 pop, and two of the tile improvements are workboats, 2 workers and a second city by T36? Holy shit. Thanks for the pointer, Commodore.
