Thanks guys. Also, I think it's great how involved the lurkers are becoming with suggesting battle names! I must confess, Krill, I did not know that one. Good counter-weight to Isandlwana. I'll write down some more battle-names in a bit.

Yes, 3rd Ypres (Passchendaele) would be a great choice for Y (the other two don't really qualify as crushing defeats for anyone).
They were crushing defeats for every individual person who took part in them, but maybe that isn't the point of the naming scheme...

Well that kind of defeats the lighthearted doom angle I was going for, but I can't really argue with it... although if we go down that path we might as well name cities after every day that I have go to work. More please!

Just tried out
- Mining->Fishing->BW - Worker->WB->Settler (whipped) which gets our settler out eot33 and we have some spare turns to put into roads to the second city (depending where that will be). I'm inclined for the first build in our second city to be a barracks, although we're short of worker labour and have no military either.

Looks interesting!
I've been "working" a while with Mining->BW->Fishing stuff. Here is one of the variations, where settler comes eot36: Details spoilered if you want to try: This gets a faster growth curve than the one that I posted last time, but is a bit behind in hammers and has two forests less. Probably still worth it though. PS. I tried to follow your BW-beeline-opening in the spreadsheet, but I think there is something weird how the food accumulates from T15 onwards. Not that it really matters, the main things can be easily followed anyway.PS2. Let's try to settle the 2nd city so that it either shares with the capital or has in the first ring all its important tiles. Of course if we need a border pop, barracks is there for it.. PS3. There is also a settler EOT34 version of this, but due to worse tiles to work it ends up couple of food behing (but couple of hammers ahead). PS4. Now some sleep...
Unfortunately I can't yet connect to the game, so it is probable that you have to take care of making all the moves until I get things fixed. I guess it's time to decide our scouting move
![]() EDIT: I think I like SE-SE in the end. That gets us the most tiles revealed after ending the turn and the chances are pretty low that those tiles E-NE, E-E & E-SE from the plains hill have enough goodies that we discard those two fishes. Okay I finally got in! (About four times - shouldn't be doing this at work...) Our password is tourist and these are the first pictures: From the SE ![]() And East it looks like there is plenty of land ![]() From the North it looks like that water is a bay ![]() And from the West it looks like there is a large deforested area - could be water or desert? ![]() Demos: ![]() Settings: ![]() I think we're also likely to have another resource in our BFC (seafood is only worth half isn't it?) so in about four hours I'll move the scout SE-SE unless you change your mind...

So I've come around to moving SE, E. I think (hope!) there should be another resource at our cap and so the only unfogged tiles in the BFC will be revealed by moving to the PFH:
![]() What do you think? What would it take to move the settler to the plains hill?
